Edo Competition makes Ferrari FXX street legal

German magazine "sport auto" reports that Edo Competition has modified a Ferrari FXX to make it street legal, meeting German TÜV standards.

The German tuner - specializing in tuning high performance cars ranging from Ferraris to Porsches - has converted the FXX of one of its customers and made the impossible possible: Certifying a pure race-car with 800 hp for street legal use in Germany. A goal that seems unachievable, but was reached by satisfying TÜV requirements through many particular modifications. Changes on the brakes (different friction coefficient) and a different drive train weren't the only mods, Edo also managed to squeeze an additional 80 hp out of the V12 engine.

The already perfect aerodynamics of the FXX are left un-touched. 3 different programs can be activated from the cockpit, depending on where you drive the car: Minimum down-force and high drag coefficient for the Monza race track, for example. Or maximum down-force for Rijeka.

The car - with 800 hp and only 1155kg of weight - is said to be very drivable on public roads, going through roundabouts smoothly and driving on the country road with ease and comfort. Only the seating position and the heat that can build inside the cockpit remind you that you're not sitting in a GT, but in a real race-bred rocket that was designed for the race tracks.
