Maserati reveals GranTurismo MC Corse Concept

One week ahead of the Paris Motor Show, Maserati revealed their plans for a new race-bred vehicle, the GranTurismo MC Corse.

Although Maserati calls it a concept, it is expected to be eventually used in a FIA sanctioned racing series.

The race car is based on the recently introduced GranTurismo S with 430 hp. It features the usual racing modifications such as a completely stripped interior, wider body, wider track, rear wing, front spoiler and side skirts, racing brakes and a racing suspension. The engine is slightly modified by adding a high-flow catalytic converter, modified mufflers and a new intake system, thus resulting in an output of 450 hp.

It is unlikely that this car is the surprise Maserati announced to unveil at the Paris Motor Show, Oct. 2nd. Speculations circulating the web still suggest that the surprise will be a small-sized coupe or convertible, aimed at Porsche. If further details should become available prior to October 2nd, be sure to find it here at streetdrift.net.
