German tuner MTM, known for its high-end Audi creations, has announced it will offer engine performance upgrades for the new Volkswagen Scirocco with up to 380 hp.
With the released set of preview images no further details were revealed, other than several performance stages - 380 hp being the top level - will be offered, alongside with upgrades such as stainless steel exhaust systems, 19 and 20-inch "Bimoto" style wheels, sport suspensions and brake systems with 8 pistons and 380mm discs.
The Scirocco line is currently topped with the 2.0 TSI with 200 hp and a rumored "R"-version, with an engine derived from the turbocharged Audi S3-unit, would not develop more than 270 hp, making the projected 380 hp MTM Scirocco a highly desirable object for the performance oriented customer.
Amongst the range of VW tuners currently offering upgrades for the Scirocco, such as ABT Sportsline or Oettinger, the MTM Scirocco would be the most powerful available.
No dates for availability or prices for the 380 hp performance stage were announced yet.
